Fabulous Friday on Frequently Feline: Meet Sweetie

It is so much fun to meet new people on the Internet, especially when they love cats. This lovely kitty, named Sweetie really is exceptionally lovely. I found the photograph so appealing, and captured her sweetness beautifully.

So conCATulations to her kitty servant, Elyse, and Sweetie, for being chosen to be Pet of the Week!

Please leave a conCatulatulary paws-up comment for both.

A Sad Moment on Frequently Feline: Adieu to Genuine Risk!

Genuine Risk-2005: Photo by Barbara Livingston

It is with a deep and profound sadness that write about the passing of Genuine Risk, a racehorse with a tremendous heart.

One of the only three fillies to win the Kentucky Derby, Genuine Risk, a champion of the highest level, peacefully passed away on August 18, in her paddock at Newstead Farm in Virginia. A daughter of Exclusive Native, the beautiful 31 year-old chestnut mare was the oldest living Kentucky Derby winner.

Owned by Bertram and Diana Firestone, the mare was their treasured love.Trained by LeRoy Jolley, Genuine Risk became the first winner of the Kentucky Derby since Regret in 1915.
Genuine Risk was bred in Kentucky by Sally Humphrey. Matthew Firestone discovered the mare at a sale. She was purchased for $32,000.

I had the great pleasure of becoming acquainted with Diana Firestone, years ago. I had the opportunity to spend some high quality time with her, and found her to be not only delightful, but a fabulous horsewoman in her own right, and an excellent equestrian. I will never forget her, and feel graced to have been able to share some very touching moments with her.

My heart goes out to all her connections, over this sad loss. I know she will be missed deeply.

Please leave a prayerful comment for Genuine Risk's loving connections.

Fabulous Friday on Frequently Feline: Pets of the Week!

Luger, a Rott-Dobbie Mix, adopted from the SPCA almost three years ago, may be asking for a "swat" on the nose from Dottie the "snotty", an adorable kitty. Luger really doesn't seem that concerned, however. Freckles perches high up on the back of the chair and seems to be watching the action with great interest.

These wonderful fur babies own Amy, who opens her heart and home to several pets. They are very lucky to have her as their "fur mom."

Lets give Amy and her "kids" a round of apaws for being chosen to be Pets of the Week.

Way to go, Amy!!

Silent Sunday on Frequently Feline:Cat Does Dog Tricks?

You can believe your eyes! Many cats love learning tricks! A great bonding builder, with a little purrsistance and encouragement, you too can teach tricks to your kitty. Astound your friends and bust that myth! Kizzy, an 8 year-old Bengal cat seems to be having a wonderful time, don't you think?

What kind of tricks would you teach your kitty? Leave a comment and let us know!

Fabulous Friday on Frequently Feline: Meet Dudley and Oreo

I love watching horses having a good time. These two really have the fine art of horseplay down pat, don't you agree?

Beaksandpaws is one lucky lady as far as I am concerned. With her menagerie, there is never a dull moment.

Let's congratulate them for their stellar Pets of the Week award, by leaving a comment.
